So my Caraway order is still “awaiting fulfillment”. C’mon guys, fill it already, so I don’t have to question whether or not I REALLY need more tea (the answer is: I don’t).
Is everyone else still in the same status? Or have other people’s orders changed?
I think mine’s the same. I didn’t create an account so I can’t check, but I haven’t got a tracking number yet. I suspect they may have been swamped with orders in a short time, but I would expect to hear from them early next week at the latest, otherwise I might start getting worried. I paid through PayPal; hopefully I am covered? We shouldn’t be charged until the order ships though, right?
I paid through Paypal as well. I almost did the “pay 14 days later” thing to cover myself, but since it was a larger charge I prefer to put it on my credit card. I think we are charged for it now, but we do have time to dispute it later (hoping it won’t come to that).
Mine hasn’t shipped yet either: I’m guessing they got hit with a ton more order than usual and it’s just taking a bit longer?
Also the Holiday Week / Weekend may be a reason as well. Mine is still in Awaiting Fulfillment as well.
Normally here in the states the 4th of July (Independence Day) takes place on a weekend – this year was on a Wednesday.
I got mine on time but two teas were on backorder so I didn’t get my full order :-/
My credit card was charged on the 5th……. I feel like I should have heard something by now.
Yeah me too. I paid through Paypal, so I’ll dispute it if I have to. I don’t see why it wouldn’t kill them to send a blanket e-mail saying “We are really backlogged and will get to your order as soon as possible”. I’m considering trying to cancel it..
That’s reassuring, Alphakitty! I didn’t create an account so can’t check, and wasn’t sent a tracking number. My parcel is headed to Amanda though.
I’m hoping they both come before I leave for the weekend. It shows up for me as paid through Paypal. Really some information anywhere, whether it’s an email or on their home page would be nice.
Have you gotten ANY emails? Check your spam folder maybe? I’ve gotten like 5 emails about my order. I’m guessing the most recent was backordered tea from first order….
Beyond that I placed an order, nothing. I’ve been checking my spam folder many times since the other order I made’s emails all ended up there. Nothing from Caraway.
I haven’t received any e-mail other than the one from the morning after I ordered. My payment came out last Friday via paypal. I don’t expect to already have received something, but an e-mail update would be nice.
Hey everyone – I just got off the phone with Caraway Teas. I spoke to a woman who did verify many orders going out today, mine is one of them. She and her husband were working on the orders when I called and I could tell she was quite busy even a little out of breath. Some of the items that were ordered from the sale needed to be re-supplied so she had to wait on those things, and she did say she got behind.
I told her that some of us were concerned here on the forum and she asked me to please let everyone know she is getting your orders out.
I just got an email that it was shipped out. That’s good to know still. I just still wish there would have been at least something notifying everyone they were behind. If there’s anything I’ve ever learned it’s to do that, and 95% of people won’t be jerks about it, but hopefully in the future that happens.
Amanda – Were all your teas shipped out?
Azzrian – Thank you for calling. As busy as they are, though, I don’t see why they couldn’t send a blanket e-mail to all of their customers. I’m not a business owner, but this seems like something that would alleviate some of the concerns. Instead, they have to deal with people calling them and contacting them.
For everyone else whose order is on the way – What did you order that was out of stock?
No idea, everything I ordered tea-wise was a sample size, but the emails (2 now) only confirm shipment/change of order status and have a delivery confirmation number.
Well I have still not received a deliver status or confirmation number even though they said mine would go out today. So I am at a loss lol
Online mine still say awaiting fulfillment!
Maybe it is the yixing pot they were waiting on – no clue but yeah meh.
Maybe it’s also one of your teas, since mine shipped out and you ordered before me, and we got the same pot.
Mine arrived. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised! I have to double check my order but I am almost positive that I was sent far larger amounts of tea than I had ordered! Also my sample is a full two ounces!!! The yixing pot was sent in a keepsake box lined in satin, wow! And a very VERY pleasant surprise is that my beloved favorite tinsane of all time, Almond Cookie by Joy’s Teaspoon, is an identical match to one of the Caraway Teas I ordered, Roasted Almond!!!! OMG I am in heaven!
My order arrived today too. Holy crap this yixing is huge. I thought it would be smaller. My samples were generous, although certainly not 2 oz.
Hummm maybe because I only ordered one sample and the rest were four ounce sizes. Yes the yixing is larger than most but that is okay since it will be my oolong yixing. If I had wanted it for a pu-erh yixing I would not have wanted a large one. They really DO need to list the size of the pot or how many ounces / ML of water they hold.
I received my order last night. oh so many teas for such a low price. My samples are anywhere between 15-30g.
I can’t wait to try them all. This afternoon I am having Mango Passionfruit Green (iced). YUM!
I just made a tea order from a few different companies!
RedLeafTea – English Toffee Matcha (distinctive flavoring)
Upton Tea – Earl Grey Creme Vanilla, Lapsang Souchong Black Dragon
Butiki – Tamarind Pop, Raspberry Truffle
I’m super excited!!

From 52Teas
…I think I might be buying too much tea…
Welcome … sit down and join us … stay awhile. You may notice you are feeling slightly woozy, don’t be afraid … that is completely normal. Oh what is that you ask … a shiny new teapot, oh did you mean these fine assortment of teas here? Not that? Oh this lovely kettle has your eye now does it? Yes, yes you are in fact falling under the spell of steepster and all of our members here. A cult, no of course not, you are free to leave at anytime, but of course before you go, please try one more sample of this lovely tea that you will absolutely DIE for! Muaahhhhh
LOL – this pretty much explains it. Leave now while you still can and while your wallet is still full.
On another note, I am definitely interested in trying some of those teas you purchased, so let me know if you’re interested in a swap sometime.
While it’s not an order per se, my free samples from Teavivre finally came …. over a month later. Man, that took a while. Do they normally take that long to ship? Or did I just get unlucky?
They come from China, probably literally over on a boat. It is fairly normal yes.
:) Its SO worth the wait though! Some of the best tea out there. :)
I’m looking forward to trying it. Out of curiosity, I saw people say how generous the samples were, but they don’t seem THAT large (maybe 6g or so). Did they used to send out bigger samples?
I don’t know the sizes I get are about 6-10g depending on the weight of the tea – usually enough to get two cups.
I believe that its not the size as much as that they send 5 at a time for free not even shipping and they do it more than once sometimes if you review their teas. You can review on their site and get loyalty points to get more samples as well or use toward purchases of larger amounts and it really adds up nicely.
How do I review tea on their website? Maybe I’m missing something, but it looked like it only lets me review it if I’ve purchased it.
I liked how Persimmon Tree let me review it without purchasing it so I could get points for a future order :)
Make sure you have made an account and once you get your teas you will get an email from Angel if you have not already went into your acct but you will be able to rate once they have sent you some to reveiw. :)
6 grams is usually only enough for two brews. I weighed my Teavivre samples with a digital scale and most of my samples were around the 15 gram range or so. I’ve paid for samples from other companies that have less tea than what Teavivre gives out free for review.
Hmm.. I guess maybe they’ve lowered their sample amount? How long ago did you get samples from them?
The Teavivre samples have gotten smaller over time (understandably so – they were quite large and they sent out a LOT of samples, so I could see that being pricey).

This is awesome, usually I get my herbal ingredients from Simpson and Vail, but their shipping is god-aweful high. It’s nice to have found another place. How is the shipping for this place?
It definitely isn’t what I’d call cheap. That order was $10.53 in shipping.
Yeah, I’m going to have to look at that S&V site though. There’s some unique trade offs between S&V and MRH, particularly regarding size choices. But S&V has a lot more dried fruit and berries than MRH. Oooh, and it has free shipping past $50. Hrmmm.
They do have a nice selection, and I do prefer smaller sizes. The only problem with smaller sizes is that I never get up to the $50 for free shipping. I also find some of their stuff to be lacking; their rosehips and orange peels both are rather bland, like they’ve been sitting for longer than they should have. Perhaps you’ll have better luck in that department!
Hrm. Good information. It’s probably not worth switching over to them for fruit, if the fruit is going to be lame! Hahaha.
