My new tea.. blog.. thing? [Contest Winner Announced!]

So…um…why not put it on Tea Trade.

Here’s a few reasons:
1. Tea Trade is WordPress. We’re powered by the exact same software that wordpress.com uses.

2. Great support. We are there every day offering personal support through private messages, instant messaging and email. We also provide access to professionally produced tutorial videos that teach you everything you need to know about using WordPress.

3. We fix what you break (we also fix what we break). If something goes wrong, we’ll fix it. Period. We usually get all support requests sorted out within 24 hours.

4. Managed hosting. Just like Blogger or WordPress.com, with Tea Trade, you get free blogging, but more importantly, you get a real, live person who watches over your site regularly , checking for issues and corrects them (a lot of times before you even notice) – even if its just a little thing like adding some space between a picture and the text, or fixing a broken for you. We’re there to help you get your blog started, keep it running and answer any questions you have along the way.

5. Selling stuff. All those tea samples you have in your kitchen that you don’t know what to do with? Even if you only sell a box of them for a $1, you can sell stuff on Tea Trade and upgrading your blog into a small store to sell extra tea from your kitchen is easy and affordable. You can’t do that on WordPress.com or blogger.

6. A built-in community. Blogging is lonely business. Our research and experience shows that your best friend will read your blog, and so will your mother – but even then, getting readers can be hard. Friends and family read blogs out of duty, a tea community reads tea blogs out of love – and that love translates into interesting conversations. One of the worst feelings is working hard on a really great post that only gets 1 or 2 comments, or worse, no comments at all. Our bloggers understand that and the community is opinionated and diverse – none of our bloggers has ever complained for lack of comments!

Anyhow, I want to personally invite you, or anyone else who is considering writing a tea blog to sign up at Tea Trade and have a look around (http://teatra.de/new-account). You can setup a blog on the sign up page – and we welcome new blogs or existing blogs. We have the technical expertise on hand to help you move an existing tea blog to our network to get the most out of your tea writings, videos and ideas.

I’ll be happy to answer any questions anyone has about it too. You can ask here, or get in touch over on Tea Trade.

Pete Davenport
Founder, Tea Trade

Thank you Pete!

In a way, I wish I had thought of this a while ago – before I bought my domain, etc!

I have looked into Tea Trade a little bit, I think it’s an amazing set-up, absolutely user friendly and the first place I’m going to go when I have my personal blends ready to sell!

For my blog/website I would totally be able to make it work – unfortunately I’ve already been working on it for well over a month and paid for the domain, etc! I’m also featuring a few non-tea-related aspects that might turn out to take over, depending on where the blog goes when I finally have a full-time job outside the internet world – but were the situation different I think I would have gone with Tea Trade for sure!

Thanks Pete, I really appreciate the insight and information on Tea Trade, and I’ll point others to this post if they inquire about starting a tea blog and not knowing where to start! Or even if they do know where to start! :D

Appreciated :)

I did the entry thing but don’t know if it went through … there was no confirmation response nor do I see it posted lol I probably messed it up : )

It went through! I got the entry email, thanks Azzrian! It’s a weird thing, once you fill out the box and press Submit it disappears haha – I’ll add a note to the post so others know about it too. Thanks for entering! Good luck of course <3

Ah yes good idea – most things like this notify that it went though so knowing this does not will safe some people’s sanity – lol

Very cool site! I’ve never seen anything like it. I really like how your name is displayed; it looks like some kind of neon sign over a diner or something, and I guess it’s almost retro looking, but still unique, and very welcoming.

That shrimp and garlic dish looks simply delicious!

Good luck with you new site!

Thank you very much SimpliciTea!
I’ll admit the design is a little cramped, but I like it that way. :)
I really appreciate your comments ! It’s definitely something to fill my time while the job hunt continues
