Stash/Cupboard Pictures
My tea pot and tea collection are at this link: http://shelstar1000.tumblr.com/page/3 check it out. I own a Teavana Japanese Tea Pot. I have a lot of tea.
Shely, this just links to whatever page is currently page three of your tumblr! you can get a link to the actual post by clicking on it from your dash or archive though!
I do most of my tea-drinking in my office. I have a an entire desk drawer dedicated to tea.
About a year and a half ago my stash was mostly comprised of bagged tea and looked like this: http://oi46.tinypic.com/2s76l35.jpg
I’ve since moved on to primarily drinking loose tea, and my tea drawer now looks like this: http://oi49.tinypic.com/10sbssk.jpg
Silly Azzrian, that’s the top of a tiny copper Teavana tin, one of my most favorite tins. I have nine of them ;)
Here’s a photo with six of mine:

Oh haha I have never had a teavana tea – well if I have it was only a sample but I still don’t think I ever had one :)
What a beautiful tea space, Autumn Hearth!
I think only two of those tins have ever held tea from Teavana. The tins are really great, though. They have a good seal, are perfectly sized for my desk, and were about $3 each. Sadly, I think they were discontinued shorty after I purchased them.
LOOK AT THIS!!!
deep drawer: http://instagram.com/p/Uh6GZyIc-N/
shallow drawer: http://instagram.com/p/Uh6QRIoc-a/
there are still a few labels i need to make, but i’m basically where i want to be.
i am pleased with the aesthetics. (i went to art school haha.)
boring details:
i ordered 8oz slip cover tins from specialtybottle.com
of course there are also several reused tins from various past orders in the shallow drawer.
i use magnetic strips with colored paper to label each.
the large tins are from davidstea
oh ps: i owe Dylan Oxford a big thanks for the idea of using magnetic tape for the labels. they are great cuz i can move them between containers easily.
:)
(Actually, it was my wonderful woman Missy who came up with the idea. I just like stealing the credit)
here is my stash picture update!
http://instagram.com/p/prLwSsoc-I/
not much has changed really
still using the 8oz tins.
still using the davids tea “free” tins
still using the magnetic labels and color coding them
if it ain’t broke! :)
That’s pretty awesome! Do you re-use the strips (rip the paper off somehow?) or do you just hold onto it for your next re-order? It looks very neat and organized and I’m getting IDEAS. I’d like to get away from having overflowing tins of sample bags like this: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=30cc3mf&s=8
so the idea of a bunch of little tins and magnets on the front is VERY appealing. It’d be neat if I could make standard magnets with steeping instructions that I could re-use! #ideas
well i actually put a little printed label over the color paper label, so then i just peel that off and put a new one on.
even if it takes some of the paper off when i peel off the label, it’s never so much to make the magnet unusable.
i have a label maker as you can probably tell, but you could easily use labels printed from a computer too.
or heck, maybe even scotch tape written over in marker? or clear computer labels i guess? then you could see the paper even more behind the text and still remove the writing easily?
brainstorming…
http://instagram.com/p/prXJA0ocyO/
you could also have 2 sets of labels. one for the changeable tea name and one with brewing instructions. since i’m sure several teas have the same/similar brewing times/quantities those could just be reused and new ones could be made as needed for the more unique teas?
hahah more brainstorming …. i can’t help myself!
i love organizing and i love problem solving and i love saving time.
it’s a compulsion that gets me jazzed haha
(actually the label maker was stolen by me from my very first real real job job over 10 years ago. i was a reservationist at a fancy philadelphia restaurant. which was really just me efficiently organizing and problem solving people into tables hahha) (don’t look at me like we both know that i TOTALLY needed the label maker more than they did.)
maybe i’ll try and help you feel better and share a pic of my sample bag pile/boxes/stashes chaos soon too… :)
Haha. Who am I to judge? I’m looking up the cost of label makers right now!!! ;P
I was just thinking if I had different tapes for it I could colour code my tea with the label instead of worrying about the magnetic strips being coloured. I tend to sort things based on what they are so that might not be a big issue, but MAGNETS are a wonderful idea.
Ahh, what beautiful kitties! Mine are always trying to get their noses in my loose tea haha
Haha indeed it was Tea Sipper!
Our cats and doggies get the best seats in the house always :)
Three on the sofa right now.
I moved the cafe set into the house for the winter – I had a huge blank space where I want to put a lift top desk with those little letter slots and such.
Found one I fell in love with but it is 700.00 so that isn’t happening lol.
I got sick of the blank space so moved the table in saying for the winter only – we shall see. The cats nonetheless approve :)
LOL they have totally different personalities so of course they prefer different teas :)
Sooo cute! I hate to say it, but my cat prefers coffee (both brewed coffee and coffee grounds)!
I dont think I could get everything in one picture. One of these days my wall of tea is going to avalanche and crush me.
LOL El Monstro, plenty of people here have taken more then 1 picture, so take as many as you need to, and post so we can ooo and ahh at your collection:)
Put back together my hutch and organized my stash on Saturday! I’m drowning in samples!

OMG your HUTCH and everything on it is STUNNING! I was going to post some pics of my own but now I see I have far more work to do lol. I LOVE your hutch how everything is just GUILD in GOLD! WOWZA!
Best idea ever! I really need to get something, someday soon so that I can get organized :) Love what you’ve done!
Thanks! Azzrian, please post, we’d love to see, you can update later ;) Of course on the hutch itself I can only count three items that are not from Teavana, the dark gaiwan on top that is cracked, the green bamboo cast iron pot on the bottom (which I will probably never use for brewing but hey it’s green and bamboo and inexpensive and not bought by me and ties everything together) and the tea cake. Everything else, pots (I have three more not pictured) and tins are from when I worked there. I bought hardly any teas but I sure used that discount on tins and gift sets! Funny that I don’t consider myself a gold person, but its nice as an accent especially when muted.
I would of loved to see your Dickens Christmas village up! I still got my Christmas village on the buffet, (Along with the Christmas tree…snickers) I am a huge fan of miniatures and would like to collect more as soon as I get a better job and my own place….and since I am eventually going to have kitties, need to come up with a plan to keep their naughty little paws away from my Mini’s!
And your hutch is lovely, and of course the tea! I have alot of tea from Teavana’s as well, heh.)
Edited to add: I love how your organized the upper hutch, I am a big fan of symmetry. It can rattle me when things aren’t balanced, though not badly and learning to get over it, more or less.
uploads to flickr We haven’t been collecting that long, this was our fourth year. In a couple years we will need to move them to a larger surface, hopefully in a new house.

So, Seton Morris Spice Merchant on the middle shelf was our start a tradition set, then my mom got us the Wrenbury Shops (Baker and Chop Shop on top sides and Spectacle Shop lower center), last year was the Hollyberry Cottage (lower left) and this year we decided to go with one old and one new: Leacock Poulterer (top center, been wanting this one from the very beginning but could not find it in any store, so turned to eBay this year) and Royal Devon Mail (lower right, my husband is a letter carrier).
The only other thing I collect besides tea tins are Lord of the Rings action figures, the husband is a big toy collector and his mom actually got me started on them, so I can relate to that part of him now ;)
Thank you for posting the pic with the village:) too cool. I am into collecting teaware, (though nothing fancy right now. Because of lack of space concentrating on serviceable and affordable and something that will be used often, everyday like my steeper mugs or once or twice a week for my 1-2 cup teapots, or once a month for the biiiig teapots. I am interested in collecting Build A Bear animals, Skelanimals, Steampunk themed anything, lol…..there was a thread a while back on collections, I think I’m gonna go unbury it!
Haha I will post – I just seem to be MORE disorganized than I was at one point but it is a never ending battle isn’t it! I love green as well and bamboo and yes I too have things I probably will never use but can’t part with SIGH. I need to gift a few items though to other tea lovers soon. I may just have to start packing them in tea sample boxes to make some space.
I will get some pics up soon :)
LOVE your village photos!
I just went to The Container Store and got this set up. The pantry door is really slim, so it was hard to find something that would fit and go over the top of the door, not drill into it. I need more shelves since not all of my tea will fit, but what I have so far cost $60 with a sale discount and that is feeling like a high price to pay for organization. If it wasn’t for the price, I’d be in love with it.

You could try an over the door shoe organizer, I think I’ve seen someone on this thread mention that is how they store their teas. Meijer’s (or another store that has multi departments.) might have them or something else like for college students.
I thought about that, but it wouldn’t look as tidy and I’m not sure it would hold all my tea. I might go by an Ikea and see what options they have. The search continues…
it does look very streamlined and tidy! sleek.
and it looks like you can add even more shelves and adjust the height too. these are all very appealing options to me.
I have over 40 teas and finally took them out of their niches to take pictures. I keep the tins in the kitchen and the others in grocery bags. Not enough room!! T^T
