Need Suggestion for Black-Green Tea blend
I’m trying to give up drinking soft drinks, and have gradually been switching to iced tea. I’m a relatively new tea drinker and prefer the more familiar taste of black tea, but I’d like to get some of the health benefits of green tea as well.
Does anyone have any suggestions of a tea that is a blend of the two (but tastes more like black)? I could always mix some on my own, but I thought someone might have a suggestion of teas that would be good to blend. Thanks in advance!
Hmmm, what country do you live in? I suppose it depends on what is available!
Oh, that means you have a Harney & Sons near you! I’ve seen people blending some of their teas… but I have yet to see a green/black combo. Maybe try one out and then base the rest of your experiments on the flavour profile?
Firstly, check out Murchie’s (a Canadian tea company; I know they ship to the US, but I don’t know where else). they’re pretty famous for their black-green tea blends. Heck, they’ve got a whole section:

I love all of theirs.
Otherwise, I like “1001 Nights” which is a blend that’s been done by a few different companies. Tea Frog and, Tealicious Tea (now closed; made my favourite version), Forsman Tea. The blends usually vary between companies, but almost always have a black-green base.
I have loved almost all of the blends I have had from Joy’s Teaspot.
Green And Black Blends I found quickly on their website:

They may have more…this is what I found in a quick search. I have enjoyed both of these tea blends.
I thought of a couple that aren’t black/green blends but a black/white blends. White tea supposedly has even more health benefits than green.

I am only happy to be of service. :) There are two new David’s tea stores in NYC so you can check out the tea in person next time you go.
