Teafirst worked at first, but then it disappeared when I went to pay.
The website has already closed!
It was an excellent sale, first time I ever shopped at Teavana. I am not too disappointed by their closing, at full price it would be quite expensive to buy from them.
They had a few things I’ll definitely miss, mostly their fruit blends. I also liked stopping in at the stores when I was out shopping at various malls. But I also felt like every time I started liking something of theirs they’d discontinue it, so I had some frustrations with them. I wonder if David’s will start moving into the malls where Teavana used to be?
Teavana generally had a no compete clause with the malls so maybe this will be an opening for Davids Tea at a lot of malls. They may well succeed where Teavana failed. In the end I think Teavana failed because their prices were too high. People were buying from cheaper internet sources.
They have closed and it looks like they are not shipping out final orders. I put in two final orders. One of which was credited back to my bank.
I called them before work and they said they are shipping both orders to me. We shall see.
Why do you think they migh not ship the final orders? I think they were always a hit slow at shipping.
The money went back into my bank account. If they are not going to charge my card I presume they will not ship out anything. Either that or they have to charge my card again. I have never put in an order like that and had the money go back into my bank account.
I just got a shipping notice on my order.
I got one shipping notice, still waiting for the second. Tracks to my local post office.
They have still shipped only one order. At this point I doubt they will ship the second but who knows.
I figured they were not going to ship the second order and today I got a cancellation order. I don’t think they ever got things right when they were in normal operation so expecting to get what I paid for is silly I guess.
Never used the website but do go to the mall stores. Teavana is a convenience as its close and all the closing sales are great (spent at least a $100 the past few months). However most of the local shops here in Atlanta are cheaper and the tea is higher quality. It is worth the visit to the mall though with all their stuff at 50% or more.
i Know a lot of you guys got started after finding a teavana, which is great, but I’m glad teavana went out of business. First of all, their wares were always a gamble… you can buy a $200 cast iron set that creates a beautiful enamel speckled tea on day two. Their “yixing” was typically coated with garbage. Their sales tactics were adjacent to used car salesmen and phone case mall kiosks.
Their tea was of good quality, but their market seemed to be “come buy your SO some tea as a gift”. Even with all of that said, my absolute favorite teacups of all time came from teavana, and one broke a few months ago :/.
Teavana cannbalized Specialteas (an excellent private vendor who had some teas I haven’t been able to find elsewhere) in a hostile takeover just to get a proprietary blend then shut them down. The they were cannibalized by Starbucks. I say good riddance.
Teavana was about my only reason to go to the mall unless I need to go to the T Mobile store, the nearest to me is in the mall. I hope Davids Tea or some other opens up in my local mall.
Figure I’d weigh in as well. It took them well over a week before the kettle was shipped, but I received it earlier this week.
I will say that there has been some absolutely bizarre activity on my credit card w/r/t this order. I was initially charged, then refunded, then charged, then refunded, then refunded again, then charged…and at the end of the day, all these credits and debits were ultimately cleared and one proper charge of $3X.XX was finally applied.
I did call Teavana a few days after my order when I started noticing the weird activity (at that point ,it hasn’t been shipped yet)
Happy to say I have my bonavita and all is well. First and last order from teavana :^)
