The only dealer in Taiwan I have dealt with is Taiwan Sourcing. They are very good. I think their website is www.taiwanoolongs.com
floating leaves tea has very good high mountain, baozhong, and other Taiwanese teas.
I also got some nice oolong (winter sprout dong pian!) from Chayo (daoist meditation). They only occasionally have Taiwanese tea, but the ones I’ve bought are great!
Yunnansourcing has a Taiwan site. And the jade leaf is good.
My usual go-tos are:
Taiwan Tea Crafts
Beautiful Taiwan Tea Company
Eco-Cha
Yes! These all come highly recommended from lots of people here
+1 on Taiwan Tea Crafts. I love them very much, and am biased to them for my Taiwanese teas.
I basically have the same recommendations as everyone else here. I’ve bought excellent high mountain oolongs from Taiwan Sourcing, Eco-Cha, Floating Leaves, Taiwan Tea Crafts, and Chayo (which also has good TGY, by the way). Taiwan Tea Crafts is great and has free shipping over $25. As a Canadian, shipping is fairly expensive, with Floating Leaves charging $10 and Taiwan Sourcing charging $15, so TTC’s generosity is much appreciated. I’ve also gotten good Taiwanese oolongs from Camellia Sinensis, though their selection is limited.
Curious about what TGY means If I might bother you for a definition haha. I’m terrible with acronyms
Thank you! It’s so obvious now..
Yes, sorry for the confusion. To my knowledge, the Taiwanese version of Tie Guan Yin is always roasted and is usually grown at lower elevations, so it’s not a high mountain tea. Chayo has some good Chinese versions of this tea, both green and roasted, and occasionally carries Taiwanese versions as well.
No it’s all good. I have noticed that as well. I personally prefer it roasted. If I want an unroasted “green” oolong I will just go for Taiwanese high mountain. I haven’t really tried too many Chinese versions of TGY (I’m already getting good at this acronym thing)
I get excellent green Muzha TGY in Taipei that I prefer to a lot of green gaoshan!
Interesting! I like both tbh, but I do love Taiwanese TGY. But then…Dong Ding is also awesome for roasted Oolongs, but muzha TGY is definitely well known for a reason :)
I have made purchases from Teamasters,TillermanTea,Beautiful Taiwan Tea, Floating leaves Shan Shiui Teas,Tea from Taiwan, Teavivre
I will post my comments when they arrive. I am not new to tea but new tomaking comments
I ordered a variety of tea samples in low oxidized teas.
I usually order my baozhong and Korean green teas from Shan Shui teas bcz they have been consistently good imho.
My orders have been arriving.
This morning I had Floating Leaves Farmers completion 2017 baozhong which I enjoyed.
