Do you recommend Yunnan Souring
Hey all, new to the site here. Little bit about me I do mostly gongfu brewing, prefer Chinese oolongs, blacks and pu’ers (of course). I live in a remote area of Canada so when I order tea I order “big” and I store at least 6 months of tea.
I am thinking about changing my supplier of tea and was wondering if people feel they get value for their money from Yunnan sourcing. I appreciate your input thanks,
Tim
Yunnan Sourcing is definitely my favorite source for tea, but I do buy mostly puerh from them although I have bought a lot of their black teas too and they have been quite good. I have bought some of their herbals and hei cha too but you have to develop a taste for these.
I have gotten excellent puerh, oolongs and blacks from Yunnan Sourcing at good prices and definitely recommend them. I recently met someone by chance, as well, who happened to be a fan of Yunnan black teas and Yunnan Sourcing is her number one go-to.
They are top notch! My favorite source for yunnan blacks, they carry a lot of them and they are really good. My favorite is their wild oolong.
First class and they have sample sizes on most things and sales that are often put on here as well. I would think most of this forum know Scott by name or email.
I have bought some fresh yunnan tea from a online tea shop best-tea.com. It’s quite good quality and nice flavor. Hope it can help you.
The only criticism I’ve heard of Yunnan Sourcing is that the teas really aren’t curated to be certain styles, that some descriptions could be more explicit, which blurs at the edge related to identifying quality levels. But in general the feedback is as good for this supplier as for any, for selection available, quality of teas, and value. I just bought a few teas from them, some unusual stuff, checking out different types of hei cha, so I’ll check back about how that went on here later.
All,
I have put in a couple orders with YS – thank you for your feedback. Scott’s level of customer service though blew me away. He customized a list for me of ripe Pu’erh to explore which takes some guess work out of ordering for me – his inventory can be intimidating :).
Anyway, I am impressed.
Tim
Scott is always helpful and there for his customers.
Sometimes I wonder if the man sleeps. ;-)
