tea Company Destroyed BY Fire
My favorite local tea store was recently destroyed by fire. They lost everything. They are planning on reopening and have a gofundme page.
I seem to recall Whispering Pines having a fire and getting a very different reaction than this.
Wow, that’s awful. Hopefully no one was hurt, it sounds as though all are safe. Yes, insurance doesn’t cover everything. Anyone who thinks it does has probably been lucky because they likely haven’t had to use it. If you read the GoFundMe page there’s a good explanation.
Am I the only person on Steepster who ever shopped at this store? They sold really good teas. There were only two good independent stores on Long Island that I know of and a third I have never been too. This was the best place to buy tea on Long Island having teas at least as good as Davids Teas in the Roosevelt Field Mall if not better and certainly better than Teavana. I hope they have the funds to reopen soon.
Whispering Pines was a home business, Clipper Ship is a brick and mortar tea shop. Whispering Pines would not likely have had business insurance. I hope Long Island residents are considering a fund raiser too as this would be a local establishment, along with two others that were destroyed in this fire.
