Most of the time, I will choose green tea, such as Guan yin tea, Long jin tea,Bi luo chun.
Whether I brew tea gongfu or western style is not so much a matter of the tea but a matter of time. In the morning I frequently do not have time for a gongfu session so I western brew my tea, usually black. When I do have time for gongfu it is most often puerh, sometimes ripe, sometimes raw but I do on occasion gongfu oolong tea.
Same here. Western steeping usually comes down to whether or not I have the time for a gongfu session.
Another factor is controlling caffeine intake. I’ll western steep if it’s late and I want to minimize caffeine.
i gong fued a chinese black tea, and i was suprised at how much it benefited from it.
