I think using the term “afternoon tea” refers to the “tea time” started by British royalty that includes snacks that play well with tea.
I drink tea in the afternoon as a pick-me-up when I start to lag… About 2:30-4pm ish. I don’t eat anything with it… I just enjoy a cuppa tea. :)
what kind of tea do you drink? will you like black tea better?
I enjoy a variety of tea (ie: black, white, oolong, herbal, green, purple). I’m not a huge fan of Pu’erh mostly because I haven’t ventured very far down that road. I don’t want to buy a tea I can’t store properly in this dry dry Idaho air. :)
While I enjoy a nice afternoon tea time with tea snacks, I mostly use my gaiwan and drink tea in the morning instead of the afternoon. This is also partly due to the fact that I am very sensitive to caffeine and drinking it later in the day can make me have a harder time falling asleep at night.
I do think it would be fun to live in a culture where there were acceptable break times built in throughout the day to stop and drink tea.
Right, I like to have a cup of tea to aweak me up in the morning, but I don’t want to have a hard to time falling asleep at night. The time of a cup of afternoon teahelp me relax a lot, and I enjoy a lot.
Follow me to drink tea in the morning and after meals to help digest good food
Really? What kind of tea do you drink? Is there any relationship with waht kind of tea you drinked to help digest food?
I drink afternoon tea, but not really ceremonially — mostly just because that’s when I need a caffeine kick to get me through the rest of the day. I often see darjeeling tea marketed as afternoon tea marketed as afternoon tea, I guess because it’s a little lighter and ‘fancier’ than the breakfast teas. My personal preference is to drink oolong in the afternoon.
which kind of tea will you choose to as morning tea? Is there any difference between morning and afternoon?
Afternoon tea is when I break out the sheng.. Ive had enough to eat at this point its not going to upset my stomach. Later in the afternoon its shou time!
