I wish to try Sencha

I grew up and have lived on Darjeeling teas. Any recommendations/tips on the initiation will be appreciated.

Yunomi is a good website to buy Sencha. They sell all types of Japanese teas.

Sencha can tend towards grassy flavours. It can also have a nice clean taste.

Gyokuro is another tea you should try (like shaded sencha)

Anyways, it’s common enough to find. Just make sure it comes from Japan.

David’s tea has a clean tasting sencha.

Yuuki-Cha has some great organic sencha teas at reasonable prices.

I like Yunomi and Den’s Tea for sencha. Den’s Tea has a great introductory sampler.

Yunomi is a little scary. The tea spot has jade orchid which is a kabushecha, which is a semi shaded sencha, much much cheaper than Gyokuro and very good.

Thank you all! I appreciate your help in my initiation. I have placed an order with Yunomi to start with. I hope to get to David’s Tea which sounds like my kind of cup and then maybe to Den’s Tea and/or Tea Spot. I am based in India, not sure how many tea companies might deliver here. Thanks again for all the help.

You’ve already got some good suggestions here, but wanted to throw in one more. Chiki Tea is another great option for sencha and Japanese tea in general. I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from them. Aside from them I also order from Yunomi, which has been recommended. Good tea, but awful user experience on the website in my opinion.
