Do you have a tea "space"?
my tea has a whole shelf in my cabinet close to my stove and fridge altho my cadbury chocolate bars are renting space from my tea space :) my kettle lives on my warmer zone on my stove top. we only use the warmer zone when we entertain as only my mom and 1 friend drink coffee the rest are tea drinkers. (i did buy a coffee maker for when my mom comes over because i am a momma’s girl lol) we always boil right then and there for a cuppa. i also use the drip tray from the IngenuiTEA for my used tea leaves so i can do re-steeps :)
We have a TINY kitchen and since I don’t have the height/reaching ability most do, I cram what I can into every available square inch of space:)
Yes, I have a tea space. It used to be one shelf in my glass cupboard. Now it’s the entire left side of the cupboard, plus part of a shelf in my pantry, and the tea is still outgrowing its space and pushing my glasses into piles ;-) I have tea tins, tea cups and tea pots – each on their own shelf. Tea accessories share the shelf with the tea tins. Extra tea cups are in the pantry, and my BREWT and Yixing cups are squeezed in.
I have a three-shelf baker’s rack to the side of my cupboard to hold tea, teapots, spoons, sugar, etc. It’s not ideal thought, because it is next to a window (I keep most loose tea on the bottom, more shaded shelf). Also since it’s open-air, it attracts dust. I keep the mugs and teacups in a cupboard, and just put decorative tea cups and pots on the shelf. I really wish I had more counter/cupboard space in my kitchen!
Now that I have enough space to store my loose tea…I have to make a ’special’place to store my pu-erh cakes…I am looking at creating a ‘space’ just for tea and tea appreciation “ceremonies” hey…I am not getting too esoteric…just pour me another will yah?! But, seriously, I am working on a space for my tea and possibly a book and some music…
Even it might be a luxurious thing to have…but I am using my house bar to 80% for my teas. The 20% alcoholic berverages help to accomodate the teas…whisky, rum, gin…
LOL. I love that idea, and since I don’t really drink I would keep probably all my teas there along with the kettle.
My bedroom is in the basement of my family’s house, so my tea space is in my room. Tea storage is a large (floor to ceiling, and about 5’ wide) bookcase, and my brewing station is currently a bar table (with stools) that I’m storing for a friend.
Finally reorganized everything!

Reviving this thread because FINALLY (after nearly 8 months of renovations) my room is finally back in order, and my tea and teaware is finally in its rightful place!!!

Little brewing station (Kettle is plugged in across the room, next to my computer desk):

it’s WAY more organized now that I have a specific teaware shelf. Kettle has its own little table (bedside table that’s way too low to use with my bed, so it lives in a corner next to my desk), plastic tray and basket o’ steeping and measuring devices for actually making tea, teaware all on one easy to reach shelf, and tea in a pretty killer order! yeah, life is finally good again, my tea is back in its rightful place, and I can breathe again. ;)
That’s awesome!! I guess I don’t have that much tea after all!! I like your brewing station.
