Just received the October delivery and it’s 4 different traditional TGY’s along with a couple packets of modern TGY. Curious to hear people’s thoughts on them. Most of the TGY’s that I’ve tried have been of the nitro-green modern variety so seeing how much variation can exist in this style of tea has been pretty eye-opening.
As a side note, this will probably also be the first time I finish a delivery before the next month’s shows up.
I know he said that if people don’t like the modern one to just throw it out, but I like it. It’s not really all that flavorful like I would normally like, but it smells really floral and savory which I love.
I found the type three to be much like the dancong oolongs I have tried.
What about the November cake? What is it?
I don’t think it’s been sent out yet, but according to the w2t instagram its a 2017 Huang Pian raw 200g limited release cake with materials from the past couple of years.
Sorry, I actually meant the November cake.
Edited my original message.
2017 50g raw puer cake. In the letter it says that it’s very fresh and could benefit from some rest.
Anybody’s got notes or comments on the 50g cake? I’m getting it soon enough (it takes ages for tea to arrive to where I live) so I want to know what to expect.
It was nice but I think Paul has a higher opinion of it than I do. I think they should have included something else too.
I REALLY liked it. It has some characteristics similar to Bitterleaf’s 2017 WMD. Not totally the same but similar quality.
I LOVE it. Will let the rest of the cake age, but it’s very good.
