Question about Harney & Sons teas
Does anyone know if Harney & Sons uses the same base tea on all of their flavored black teas? I have tried Cranberry Autumn before and really didn’t care for the slight smokiness in the tea. I was thinking about ordering some of their other teas (Florence, Chocolate, Boston) but am afraid they might have the smoky flavor as well.
I strongly suggest e-mailing them directly. This is why I wish all companies would say what specific type of tea is used for flavored teas/blends instead of just black, green, etc.
I don’t remember anything smokey in Florence. I’ve also sampled Indian Nimbu, and don’t recall any smokiness there, either (though, I think that is a Darjeeling actually).
I have Peaches & Ginger, Boston, Florence, and Paris….. I do think their bases are similar, but I am wondering if the smokiness is just part of the flavor for Cranberry Autumn. Florence is smooth, and so is Paris..no real smokey notes. Same with Boston, and that is another cranberry flavored one. In Peaches & Ginger, I would think the ginger would gobble up any smokiness.
Let us know what you find out if you email them.
I have a question about Harney and Sons teas. I am going to a retail store next week that carries (loose) most of the Harney and Sons line. I know I want to try Florence — what others would anyone recommend? I already have Paris and Vanilla Comoro. TIA! :)
I am jealous! By going there you can smell them all to decide which ones appeal to you. You have my top three on your list. I also like Midsummer’s Peach (Decaf).
