Tea Houses in NYC
Does anyone know of tea houses or tea shops in NYC preferably Chinatown. I’ll be meeting someone from Steepster in Chinatown in a few weeks and I don’t really know where to go for tea in Chinatown although I’m sure there are many places.
Ten Ren is worth mentioning, even if you don’t have tea there. It’s one of those places to stop and see how they do business. Also, if you do a search for Ten Ren New York, it will give you a list of other places people searched for. A liat of tea places essentially.
Traditional Chinese restaurants will serve tea with a meal as well in China towns wherever you go.
If you have never had bubble tea that would be somethimg worth doing.
There is also a tea place rating feature within this website.
I asked and my friend said that China town is tough to find good tea in. T shop very close to Elisabeth St was recommended. Harvey & Sons is nearby too. T2 as well.
One particular place was recommended for what you were looking for. Te company in East village.
I absolutely adore Te Company. The service is excellent, the food and tea is delicious, and the proprietor is fun to talk to. The pineapple cookies are expensive but a must-try. However, they are on vacation until 9/8 so plan accordingly.
I have to say Tea Drunk too
I drink the most of their teas (as you can see by my reviews) and I find them to be top notch
You can skip Ten Ren it is a very big main stream company
Second for TSHOP: www.tshopny.com
Also within the boundries of NYC (Flushing Chinatown)is Fang’s at
135-25 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing.
Finally, in Brooklyn is Puerh Brooklyn. I’ve not been there yet.

I was at Puerh Brooklyn once about two years ago. It was nice but at the time they were strictly carrying Yunnan Sourcing teas. The website now makes it look like they have branched out a bit.
