What do you think is the best Earl Grey Tea going?

I liked the Silky Earl Grey by Teajo but I’m not really much of an Earl Grey drinker, I kind of prefer “Lady Grey” and Earl Grey Creme – I go through alot of Adagio’s Earl Grey Moonlight, but I think Zen Tea’s is more balanced.
I really like vanilla in my Earl Grey, but if it has orange at the same time, I don’t particularly like it. I haven’t had enough Earl Grey to decide on my favorite, but I do enjoy a Cream Earl Grey from the Metropolitan Tea Company. I don’t think that one is particularly big, at least they don’t offer their tea through retail on their site, so you would have to find it on Amazon or some other place. I think I might try their Earl Grey as well.
I do like Steepster’s Earl Grey Bravo, though I’m not as much a fan of their Earl Grey Moonlight.
Are there good black Earl Greys any out there that are light on the bergamot but also don’t use any natural flavoring or artificial flavoring?
Do you mean using the actual fruit peel/fruit? As far as I know, EG’s are made with the essential natural bergamot oil, but may be the fruit/peel was used early on when the EG originated. It would be neat to know if the actual peel/fruit was or still is used in some EG’s. I’m always careful when choosing my EG’s, the natural bergamot oil is a must, otherwise turns a really bad tasting or perfumey EG.
Nah, I just meant actual oil instead of something meant to approximate the flavor of it and called “natural flavoring” or “artificial flavoring.” With most teas that use the actual oil, I find the flavor a little overpowering. I’d like to try an EG that just…puts less in the recipe.
I have a green earl grey (base is a green Ayra darjeeling ) with a hint of real Indian bergamot oil. It’s very delicate, not at all overpowering, and one of my all time favourites. Just a hint in the background. Real Yum!
I cannot stand the perfemury bergamot taste/fake oil, it’s like sipping perfume.
I buy mine at Hotsoup. They also carry a wonderful black EG
I haven’t tried this, but I ran across it and it reminded me of your question. This brand has three versions. Their regular, supreme (with more bergomot) and then this organic version which is listed as having less of the bergomot oil

My favorite is Violet Femme from Zhi Tea. Assam base with blue cornflowers, vanilla and lavender. My other favorite is Trifoce Tea from Adagio :D It’s got blue cornflowers, marigold, vanilla, cream, and just a slight hint of apple/ginger.
Ooh, I will have to keep the Violet Femme in mind. I have been wanting to pick up some Gong Fu Black tea from Zhi, I will have to add a sample of this.
