New Essence of Tea Pu-Erh Club

Check it out, a new tea club with a new model. High end, expensive, and only twice per year. What do you think?

I just signed up. I’m sure they’ll have some good stuff.

Wow. It looks wonderful, but would suck up most of my annual tea budget.

I felt like someone was playing a prank on me when I went to eot’s website and saw that £500 but then I saw it is for an entire year. Averages out to about $60 per month which is very doable, for myself at least. I’m just looking forward to finally having some good teas to contribute for a tea-swap! Last time I asked Allan if I could get some yqh he laughed in my face. Hahaha love you Allan.

i can only think of one teaclub at the same price that is better than this. 2 white2tea tea clubs.

I’m just a humble messenger. I’m on the fence myself, it is an expensive commitment. I’d rather it were half the tea for half the price. It might be a good one to split two ways. I would also like to see some oolong in there, that would be a big selling point for me.

oooooh this looks wonderful. I can’t afford that much tea at once, however I am really intrigued. These sound fantastic.

I’d be up to splitting this with my T Shop yearly thing… But that was only $200 for a year and it’s all oolong from the four seasons

Oof, that sounds so cool, but yeah, I don’t think I could do that without splitting it with a couple people with that high of an upfront cost, :c.

It’s hard to make a split really work. From the website it sounds like they are really looking for a multi-year commitment.

From the additional info pulled from the comment and TLDR

Lump sum, £500 (about $722 USD right now, which is pretty good conversion right now). 2 shipments a year. 2/3 Spring, 1/3 Autumn

Example for Spring shipment
4 to 5 200g cakes, and some maocha, some small quantity special teas. Guessing Autumn could be 2-3 cakes?

Ehhhhhhhh. That’s tough. I get why they want a lump sum so they can reserve the tea, but that’s just a huge commitment. Going solo, maybe if I have more FU money it would be cool, but for that price I rather pick out what I’m getting.

I think it be more manageable if it was just seasonal and that would make splitting it easier. But yeah, I agree with Dr Jim, splitting would be ugly, say around 4 or more would be good priced, but if there’s small quantity special teas, it might be to small to split those.

I did those conversions and said, “eh, no way I am in the market for a $700 kg of tea.”
