What's the one tea you binge ordered on?

I ordered 3 oz of Adagio’s “White Blueberry” and found out afterward that while it was okay, I wasn’t that crazy about it. Unfortunately a couple weeks later my mom bought me another 3 oz of it for a birthday present, so now I have about 40 cups’ worth sitting around waiting to be brewed… :-\

A happier incident was when my sister bought me three, 4-oz tins of Adagio’s “Zodiac Air” tea collection, and it got lost in shipping, so she ordered them all over again, and then of course both shipments ended up arriving at my door. Luckily I really loved all of the teas in that collection, so I don’t mind in the least having 6 gorgeous painted tins and a total of 24 oz of it.

(they really are pretty tins! http://www.adagio.com/gifts/zodiac_air.html)

White Blueberry sounds like an odd mixture. Not a huge fan of flavored teas myself.

You probably have more sophisticated tastes than I do. ;-)

I happen to be a massive fan of flavored teas. I just learned the hard way to be sure and sample them two or three times before dashing off to stockpile massive quantities, because sometimes the first taste is deceptive.

White Blueberry really is an okay tea, and I’m not cringing my way through it or anything. I just wish I didn’t have quite so much of it…

I do the same way with puerh. Usually do multiple sessions with one before I binge order.

You can always offer it up for sale or swap and get yourself something more enjoyable in return.

Butiki’s Coffee and cigarettes. When her shop was closing I think I amassed like 3oz of it. Still have it, and it’s still great. I’ve also bought a lb of CTC from golden tips, back when I used to make tea lattés in the espresso machine at work. YUM.

I am way too Short Attention Span Theatre to binge on any one tea. The fact that I have a couple hundred in my cupboard (the actual one) makes me happy. Also never met a buffet I didn’t like.

During the summer I tend to binge on Peach Jasmine Dragon Pearl Green Tea and Strawberry Oolong, both from Teavivre. I fell in love with both of those from the first sip and I tend to pick up large amounts whenever I see them on sale. Then there are my everyday teas, Zen Tea’s Earl Grey Cream and Rishi’s China Breakfast, I buy both of those by the pound.

From Premium Steap. During the summer, I once ordered a pound of Assam (Harmutty, I think) because I was drinking ice tea made from it like a maniac! Also some hibiscus in the mix.

Definitely blacks from Yunnan Sourcing. Yi Mei Ren and Wu Liang Hong Mao Feng especially. I never get sick of them and the price is so reasonable for a ludicrous amount.

I find it hard to buy more than two ounces of anything most of the time. I like a little bit of this, a little bit of that, and another bit of something else. I rotate often. I’d feel overwhelmed if I have over 50g of just one tea. I feel I enjoy it more when I have less since it seems more scarce.

There are a couple exceptions. The most I have bought thus far is 100g of Teavivre’s Dragon Pearls (for the office) and Chrysanthemum, and 4oz of Verdant’s Laoshan Village Chai, which is my favorite masala chai blend (now extinct – boooooooooooooo).

Generally speaking a tea would have to be one I would drink everyday…only that would warrent buying more then an ounce of tea.

That being said…I fell in love with Verdant’s 8 Treasures Yabao and bought 3 ounces of it. Sadly, for reason it doesn’t quite measure up to the few samples I’ve had of it. Never the less, if Verdant gets around to offering it again, I will buy more.

I used to buy 6-8 oz of teas at a time when I went to Teavana. But I was only going once a year. Citrus Lavander Sage comes to mind…
