Being sick is really the only time I will drink herbals ha ha…

Sore throat: Marshmallow root, chai, mint
Allergies: Nettle leaf, Red clover, local honey and ginko leaf
General flu-like symptoms: Elderberry herbal (Verdant), Echinacea, ginger
Stomach issues: mint, ginger, turmeric :)

Traditional Medicinal’s Throat Coat is good for sore throats. Domo Tea’s Elixo is good for colds in general (just don’t inhale unless you want your sinuses REALLY open). I grow my own herbs an I have a blend of mint, chamomile and dried gingerroot that I take for an upset stomach (though Tazo’s Calm also works quite well in a pinch), I also have a herbal blend for menstrual cramps and general hormonal yuckiness it’s mainly raspberry leaf with mint, chamomile and lavender.

Definitely honeysuckle tea. This one is classic in China when you’ve a flu. See this article on Daily Mail: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2783033/The-latest-weapon-fighting-flu-nice-cup-honeysuckle-tea-Scientists-ingredient-acts-like-viral-penicillin.html

Isn’t the Daily Mail supposed to be a hack newspaper that’s full of junk ‘science’?

That’s an understatement. I would definitely independently research anything you read there.

I see. Sorry, I googled it and came on top. Here’s the original publication: http://www.nature.com/cr/journal/v25/n1/full/cr2014130a.html

- Ginger for colds, headaches, and stomach pain
- Peppermint for headaches, stomach pain, and tiredness when I can’t have caffeine
- Chamomile and lavender for stress

My favorite ginger teas at the moment are loose ginger from The Spice & Tea Exchange and Breezy Morning’s West Indian Ginger Root. Add lemon (or lemongrass) and honey for a cold/flu/sinus infection.
I keep meaning to try nettles for allergies! Maybe this year.

Usually something with ginger, or a ginger peach green tea with some honey and lemon. I never add any sweetener to my green tea but when I’m sick, honey is an exception. Plus, honey is good for you!

I enjoy chamomile tea, too, but I also enjoy it at bedtime even when I’m not sick.
