DIY tea

Hello, friends!
This summer I am going to make my tea. Assemble, prepare and dried in an oven. What do you think is a good idea?

Homebrew experiments are fun! I’ve grown my own mint varieties for a couple of summers now. (I hand-dry in bundles hung upside down rather than in an oven.)

do you mean you want to make your own herbal drinks? or you are growing actual tea plants?

It will not contain caffeine.
I’ve noticed that I can not feel very well if I drink coffee or caffeine-containing beverages.
I love herbal teas. Fragrant, healthy teas.
About the experiment I’m going to write here.

This is a great way to get the most out of gardening and enjoying tea! I did the same with rose, lavender, sage, basil. I grew black currants at my last house and found out that the leaves can be used in tea. Almost spicy, woodsy taste. Really delicious.

I’ve looking into growing my own camellia sinensis… end result was the shear volume I’d have to grow and all the equipment to process it the way I would want it to be done just isn’t an option right now.

Does Ohio even have a climate suitable to growing tea?

They grow tea in places like Scotland and Michigan so it isn’t outside of the realm of possibility. You’d definitely need a large number of plants to get a decent harvest though.
