Pairing tea with books. Yes, books.
I like to have Keemun or Assam while reading Dickens novels. And something more floral with Austen. (Breakfast blends for Tolkien, remind me of Hobbits.)
I really like to have some Verdant’s 1800 Yr Single Tree while reading the Complete Idiot Guide Frauds Scams And Cons, by Duane Swierczynski.
Seriously? People are bringing this up again? Yeah, Verdant fucked up, but you guys needed to stop beating this dead horse a looooong time ago. Jesus Christ.
It was just a joke. Good grief. I thought it was funny. I’m frankly a lot more disturbed that there’s currently a thread about starvation techniques with tea that no one but me seems to object to because you know… Disordered eating is actually a serious social problem.
@nycoma: Well, look, I’m sorry, but I thought this site was about enjoyment of tea, not tossing out bogus and probably dangerous health advice. I have unsubscribed from the thread, expressed my disappointment, and now I’m done with it.
Usually I don’t jump in to tell people not to follow unscientific medical miracle cures because a handful of other people do it first. No one this time, though, which… Whatever. You’ll do what you want, I’ll worry about my own family.
Thanks for all of the suggestions for teas specific to the style of book we will be reading. Would it be redundant if I gave a book and its description and asked for tea pairing suggestions about, oh, every month or so? :)
