Good, Inexpensive Green Tea
I’d say the only thing lacking (Yeah Right…) from my cupboard is some green tea. I’m wondering if anybody knows of any that are good and inexpensive—$1-4 oz.
I’m also willing to swap or buy with/from a fellow Steepsterite. I have lots of ripe puer that could use a better home.
Depending on what you’re looking for in a green tea, i can likely do a swap with you – i have a few in my cupboard that will take forever to drink and would happily do a swap. In Canada though so there’s that.
I’ve got some green tea, both straight and flavored, that I can send if you’ll cover the cost of shipping. PM if interested. Thanks.
I can also spot you some greens if you comp shipping. Maybe swap depending on the pu you have.
I am in reverse, I need to reduce my green stash!
Out of curiosity, what’s your turnover like? I’ve got greens that are pushing 3 years old :/
Yunomi is good for Japanese greens. They have a wide range of prices, but quite a few affordable things.
Have you tried Gyokuro Karigane (Kukicha)? I like it coz it’s a creamy and smooth Japanese green tea that’s very affordable. Let me know if you’s like to try anything else. I can send you some samplers:

Oh yeah, Den’s does a free green tea sampler in which you just pay the price of shipping. They only ship in the US though.
I just saw a review for a green tea from Myanmar that sounds really interesting. And it’s inexpensive! $2 an ounce. Review:http://sororiteasisters.com/2016/01/05/pyin-green-tea-shan-valley/
Depending on what you consider cheap, I would highly recomend Teabox.com. They specialize in Indian teas and ship out of Darjeeling. They take freshness incredibly seriously. I have had some amazing green teas from them for about $12/100g. For Japanese teas I reccomend Hibiki-An.com. The best sencha I have had came from them. Again, they take freshness very seriously.
