Matcha David's Tea

Hello I just tried my first Matcha tea at David’s tea.
What is your guy’s take on the Matcha there?
Do you like them? What are your favourites of matcha there?
Do you think there is a lot of health benefits for drinking Matcha?
The David’s Tea staff told me that one cup of matcha is like the power of 10 cups of green tea.
Do you think it’s better to have the straight matcha or flavoured matcha?
You don’t have to answer every question I posted, I’m just curious about Matcha and brand new to it.

I’m not really a matcha fan, but I can give my opinion on some of your questions, at least. While there is definitely better matcha than Davids, there is also worse. I am of the opinion that it doesn’t hurt to try things that you can access and then seek out better versions if you find you really like it. As a green hater, matcha was never likely to be my thing, but some flavoured ones are palatable. At least in a smoothie. :)

I am not one to pay attention to perceived ‘health benefits’ so I can’t really help you there. I suggest drinking what you enjoy, and ignoring health claims. All tea theoretically has antioxidants, just in different quantities. Matcha is actually powdered tea so it is more concentrated that brewing the leaves, but phrases like “the power of xx cups of green tea” make me leery.

Straight matcha if you like it, flavoured if you like it, or both! For me it always comes down to drink what you want. If you really want to consume matcha for some reason but don’t enjoy it on it’s own, it can be added to smoothies/milkshakes/oatmeal/food in general.

I’ve personally never had the Matcha from David’s Tea. As far as preference goes I love a good high ceremonial grade Matcha straight. If it’s mid grade I like to mix it in with some frothed almond milk and a little sweetener for a Matcha Latte.

I love the chi of Matcha. If I have a long day ahead it is my go-to for a calm, focused mental state.
