Davids Tea

I have a whole bunch Bubbie’s Bavlavka I wouldn’t mind selling. It’s very much a dessert tea.

If you want to try a whole bunch at once, I think their Advent calendar is either already out, or due to be out soon.

I’m obsessed with DAVIDsTEA! If you don’t mind me asking, which store did you go to in Chicago? (I was in the one in Water Tower Place when they brought out the Winter Collection).

Anywho, here’s what I tried and found fairly sweet:
Hot Chocolate (Winter Collection)
Peanut Butter Cup (I saw you tried this though. Love it!)
Birthday Cake (obsessed with this. Recommend sweetening with agave nectar).
Snow Day (Winter Collection)
Cardamom French Toast (Winter Collection)
Orange Blossom
Pink Lemonade (Isn’t SUPER sweet, but it tastes like lemonade?)
Forever Nuts (reminds me of roasted cinnamon almonds)
Honey, I dew
Cream of Earl Grey (I found that if you put enough honey, the vanilla really comes out).

I tried the birthday cake and the roobios was a little too woodey for my tastes…kicking myself about not getting more peanut butter cup (cant believe there isnt actually any peanuts in the mix!!) I didnt get a chance to try any of the winter collection because it wasnt out yet. I did pick up a discount tin of Read My Lips which I devoured as well :) I went to the location on Michigan Avenue-froze my tail off as I am from the desert but loved every second of it.

I’ve only tried two teas from their winter collection so far but I’m really digging their Sweet Almond Green and Hot Chocolate Pu’erh.

If you’re looking for dessert teas, Red Velvet Cake is one of my favourites! As is Cardamom French Toast, which is a must try as a latte. I would also highly recommend their Kashmiri Chai, which might not be quite as dessert-y but which I find rather sweet. If someone has some Bubbie’s Baklava, which was part of the winter collection last year, I would also suggest giving it a try as it was one of the first teas at DAVID’s I really, really enjoyed.

How much does Cardamom French Toast taste like French Toast?

It’s actually remarkably similar. Thick soft bread coated in egg with spices…mmm… They really hit it out of the park with this one.

Would you be willing to swap some with me? :) I need to try this!

I would, but unfortunately I only have a small sample in my 24 Days of Tea calendar. I’ve actually only tried it in store so far (hoping to get a bunch for Christmas). If you still haven’t tried it by then and I’ve managed to get a bunch, we can certainly work something out.

No worries, I might pick some up when they start accepting gift cards online. :D

Sounds good. I absolutely recommend it :)

The Kashmiri Chai is amazing and I have drank through nearly two ounces in a month. Anyone know if it is a new permanent tea or seasonal?

Fay said

I thought I was told it is permanent, but maybe I just imagined that because I can’t survive if it goes away.

It is a duplicate to a long ago discontinued green chai that Zhi Tea did bearing the same name. I have been looking for a similar replacement for it for YEARS. I too believe I will die if this one disappears.
