Small Yixing pots

Does anyone know where I can find small yixing teapots? I am looking for about 100ml yixing teapots. The smallest I have been able to find is 120 ml. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Try Chaawangshop. I was able to get a 65ml and an 85ml. He has a variety of small pots and the prices are reasonable.

I second Chaawangshop — great stuff, good shipping and really reasonable!

Yunnan Sourcing and if you’re ok with jian shui in addition to or instead of yixing – Crimson Lotus

Yunnan Sourcing has small Jian shui, so does Crimson Lotus. Chawangshop offers tiny yixing from 45-60-80-100ml. What tea are you planning to use for it?

I looked at yunnan sourcing, crimson lotus, and puerh shop and the smallest I found was 120 I think. I’m trying to do 100 ml teapot. I will definitely be checking chawangshop out. Thank you for the help. I love steepster buddies.

Are you looking for shou or Sheng pot?

Also you can email Scott at YS. He brings new pots pretty often.

I’m looking for both. I already have some for each, but they are about 150-160. And it’s just me. So I cant get through too many steeps. I’m wanting to be able to get through several more steeps per session.

I think Jian Shui for shou is the best choice. It’s thick and retains heat better than yixing. I wouldn’t use it for young Sheng, but middle aged and aged are also really good in Jian shui. For young Sheng I would choose hong ni / red clay pot. It should be fast draining otherwise it will get bitter very easily. Another site I would look is The Chinese Tea shop. They carry some smaller pots from 80’s and 90’

I’ll check them out. Have you purchased from them before?

Yes. I only recommend places I’ve tried before.

Perfect! They are new to me. That’s the only reason i ask.

I was just looking at the Chinese Tea Shop. While they have some excellent prices they also have some 19th century pots for $8000.

I’d second Allan on the Chinese Tea Shop, keep watching their site, their prices are usually reasonable. Another site with small pots is puerh-sk, however their prices are on the high side and the dollar is slightly disadvantaged on the Euro. If the prices are too stiff, consider a high fired mineral clay pot on Etsy from a small potter. You can get them for around $50, they won’t be Yixing but they are lovely and do the job.

I’ve actually decided to get a Jian shui for shou and yixing for sheng. Just wanting small teapots. I’m actually looking at one from crimson lotus and one from yunnan sourcing. But I will give the Chinese shop another look. I may hold off until black Friday to see if there are any sales.
