Need sheng recommendation
Hi!
I want to purchase some cakes of sheng as the 90% of the pu that I have is shou.
I’m looking for something not bitter (I hate bitterness) and no smoky (so, I’m looking for something sweet) and also not expensive ($10 for 100gr or less would be perfect, I can’t afford much more than that including shipping).
Any recommendation?
I would suggest you look into Misty Peaks. It may be a little more than you want to spend but I find it is sweet with little bitterness. Their Autumn 2015 cakes are still available as is their loose tea. Mandala also has some nice sheng such as the 2014 Wild Monk. Also probably a little more than your stated price but good sheng tends to be more expensive than good shou.
Houdeasainart has some nice mid aged selections that will have most if not all bitterness aged out of them. Aged tea in general will be smoother and less bitter. Also the little walk at white2tea is a nice tea in your price range for a fresh non bitter puerh
