I recently saw some weird guy do it: https://instagram.com/p/52EupkxYBD/
lol. i just did it with some cheap tuocha given by a friend (who doesnt know a lot about tea much less puerh) from China. it was leftover from a brew for kombucha. helps slough off dead skin cells effectively haha. weird guy indeed.
I have done it as a way to use up tea that wasn’t to my taste but cheap enough to not care about whether I should be passing it along. I am a beauty product junkie, and while novel, the scent wasn’t strong enough nor benefits to my skin noticeable enough for me to give up my Lush and Lush style bath bombs. Now if someone made tea bath bombs, I would absolutely take notice…
I have a number of tea bath products given to me, like loose leaf intended for bath and bathbombs with tea in it. I refuse to use them as clean up would be horrible.
It’s supposed to be good for your skin.

I have some tea bath soak made up for use in tea bags but I don’t take baths very often – no time. :(
i didnt use it in a bath per se. where i am, we usually “shower” with a pail of water and dipper so i get to have a quick “bath” of tea :)
I too have used tea that is “not good enough” to pass on to anyone for a tea bath. I put the loose leaf in a little sachet made of cheese cloth. I use the hottest bath water and let it fill about a quarter full. Let it cool (steep?) then fill the bath as usual. Of course, it takes a ton of tea to really get the scent I want. I made a lovely bath of a bunch of left over strawberry teas and it was very relaxing and of course, the tea sachet makes a great scrubby for exfoliating. :D
I have also read that you can steep a strong tea since most of us don’t bathe in water hot enough for black teas anyway and then pour it in your bath.
I have taken many tea baths :P I would occasionally indulge in a box of black teabags just for soaking in hot water. Does wonders if you have irritated skin
green tea is what I have heard to be ideal. good for skin, nails, and hair
Inexpensive matcha from asian markets is my favorite… because it doesn’t make too much mess and dissolves really well in the water. I add in about the amount for 2 or 3 cups of tea to the bath and it really does help skin.
I’d definitely do it if I had a bath. :P
