You are definitely in tea heaven near SF. I will second Imperial Tea Court (actually in Berkeley), and, also in Berkeley, Asha Tea house, which has some great oolongs.

There are two Imperial Tea Courts, one in Berkeley and one in SF at the Ferry Building ;)

Ah, thanks for the clarification! I have only ever been to the one in Berkeley.

Isn’t there a place called T-We Tea? I think that is it. Does anyone know much about them?

Yes they are in the Crocker Galleria which is in downtown SF. They have a lot of “fun” trendy blends with cute names. I’ve had a few of their blends and they are all of good quality.

For ordering, I love Teavivre, Harney and Sons, Lupicia, Mandala…there are lots of other good ones named here.

I like Aroma Tea Shop. They have two stores, one in Chinatown and one on Clement Street. Also Red Blossom is really good. I go to the Lupicia store sometimes too. There are a few stores in Japantown that sell decent Japanese tea.

Don’t forget The Pasta Shop in Berkeley. They have two locations (both sell Mariage Freres in tins and a few other brands of tea), but the location by the I80 also sells about a dozen MF teas in bulk. That location is also right next to Teance.

Who wants to go shopping for me there!

Can I request that you go roll around in a Fauchon store so I can live vicariously through you? :)

If you are looking for internet sources of tea there are a number of good ones. Mandala Tea at www.shopmandalatea.com. Yunnan Sourcing at www.yunnansourcing.com and www.yunnansourcing.us. The latter ships from Oregon the former from China. Berylleb King Tea and Streetsho88 on EBay are excellent as well.

Oh man, if I were anywhere near SF I’d be trying to get an invite to Tea Oasis (http://teasf.com/) :)
