Masala spiced chai teas are usually my favorite this time of year – or other spiced teas.
I must say Harney & Sons covers the fall and winter most deliciously! Cranberry Autumn for right now, then Holiday Tea closer to the winter holidays :) There are several other blends that they do which fit in well with this time of year, but those are two I know and love.
Bigelow’s EggNogg’n is wonderful with milk … and hard to find in my part of the world :(
I haven’t found it yet where I am, either! But, they just put out the Pumpkin Spice and Apple Cider Bigelow teas, so I think the Christmas-y ones should be coming soon.
Some that I’ve enjoyed (in no particular order):
Gingerbread Chai from Zhena’s
Peppermint Joy from Zhena’s
Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride from Celestial Seasonings
Dream by the Fire from Republic of Tea
Hot Apple Cider from Republic of Tea
I’m sure there are others, but those are the ones that stick out in my crazy brain. There are several more Holiday/Fall blends that I want to try, just haven’t gotten around to it.
ETA: Totally forgot about Pumpkin Pie from Art of Tea!! Completely delicious!
Say what you like about bagged teas, but I’m a sucker for Celestial Seasonings’ holiday blends. I also enjoy Harney & Sons Holiday Tea – it tastes like one of those oranges that have cloves stuck in it.
Really the only teas I tend to drink only seasonally are Pumpkin Spiced Chai (I fell in love w/ Twinings this year and will be buying it next year) and apple cider… my version is just chai steeped in apple juice. Otherwise I drink whatever I have a hankering for. I’m more into seasonal creamers to flavor chai and coffee… Vanilla Spiced Rum is the best!
I’ve got to look for this around here. Love pumpkin!
I just bought mine online. I love their raspberry echinacea as well so it’s worth the order for me, especially since I really want to get in the habit of drinking the raspberry echinacea daily.
Liquor Barn usually has lots of their blends, so I’ll try there before I cave and order. That way I’m less likely to buy 20 different teas, too!
Cough.. I bought 27… lol In my defense 14 of them were single bag samples lol
Single bag samples don’t count. If it’s an ounce or less, it doesn’t count. Yes, I keep telling myself this.
Haha well then none of the teas I get at my local shop would ever count cuz they sell them by the ounce. That can be dangerous… lol
Now I want Pumpkin Spiced Chai tea (I thoroughly enjoyed their apple spiced chai last fall) and I just looked and its on sale for $1.99 but I really don’t need more tea!!! Haha!
But it’s seasonal- not something a lot of people would drink in the summer (especially the pumpkin)… and on sale. Sounds good enough to me lol:) You’re right, the apple is very good and much less messy than steeping chai in apple juice.
A coffee place near me sells chai apple cider so I let them do the messy steeping for me – haha.
OK this is a little off topic but I love Jaime’s rationalization – if it’s an ounce or less, it doesn’t count. Yes… yes, I’m going to use that.
I’ve got several like that for various situations. I’m the queen of justifying things. Well, probably the princess. Because I get all of this from my mom, so she must be queen.
Haha! My name actually does mean Princess:)
Funny how during the holidays we’ll happily reach for our tea bags. I’ve always liked the seasonal tea’s Republic of Tea sells at World market.
I haven’t gotten any yet this year but they are Pumpkin Ginger black tea, Maple Pecan black tea and, Ginger Chocolate rooibos tea.
I need to seriously start drinking 4-5 cups a day to justify all the tea buying I want to do.
I’m planning a trip to get these three this weekend…have a coupon to World Market!
Thank you for mentioning these! I went to World Market yesterday and couldn’t find the Pumpkin Ginger or the Maple Pecan! I believe they were all sold out!
Oh, no! That’s terrible! I had grabbed the last Pumpkin Ginger off the shelf, but thought that there’d be more in the back. I’ll be heading back there sometime next month…can totally pick some up iffens you’re inclined.
Oh, those all sound great! I might just have to see if I can find them.
Mariage Freres’ Esprit de Noel – a very nice spice/orange peel black tea blend.
Have not tried them, but David’s Tea has a wine tea collection… they’d be really neat for parties either plain or sangria (or spiced sangria) style.
Culinary Teas actually has some amazing Seasonal Blends….I have been most impressed with their pumpkin spice and pecan pie.
