Problems with shipments from China?
I got my Dragon Tea House order today! I’m especially happy because my Dad got me this tea for Christmas (with a gift certificate)
I actually have noticed this lately too. Years ago, it took about a month to get a package from China to Canada. In the last year or two it had been much faster – less than two weeks. Right now, back to the long wait.
I’ve never had customs in my tea before…I don’t think. Does anyone know what (if any) signs Canadian customs leave on packages?
I’ve had Canadian customs open a package that came from china. They cut open the box, the inside packaging and then the actual tea package. Everything was closed back up with yellow (or maybe red) tape that said customs on it.
Hm. Well, at least they leave obvious signs so I likely have skated through okay. I tend to not buy a lot at a time though, maybe they ignore values below or around $50.
I have found it is very hit and miss. I think it is like a “random sampling” type thing. Although I know there was some discussion here a while ago about drug traffickers using “tea” as a way to mail certain drugs from US to Canada. The package that customs felt the need to destroy was from Teavivre, I don’t recall it being a large order, it was well labelled both outside and in with several packing slips, but that didn’t seem to matter.
Here’s part of what’s going on — massive congestion and backlogs on the west coast. http://www.joc.com/port-news/longshoreman-labor/international-longshore-and-warehouse-union/vessels-backing-alarming-rate-west-coast_20150128.html
Yunnan Sourcing order finally arrived today. Almost 10 days AFTER the post office said they delivered it. As you can see, delivery confirmation is for sh*t. Glad it got here though!
I have ordered a lot from China especially from yunnan sourcing for a couple of years now never had an issue with any packages and I orderd at least 20 times just takes at least 3 weeks . The puershop is about the same quality and I get packages in 1 to 2 days by usps no problems either
For most of our shipments to the US from China, the data we see online is extremely accurate. It could just be a fluke. As a guy who ships many a package from China, I can say it is generally quite stable.
I tend to use this site for tracking information https://www.17track.net/m/en/
Usually it’s more accurate and gives me more information than the local postal service.
My YS club in SF since Jan 20. Doesnt want to leave. I know SF is beautiful, i would stay there too ;)
