A Berry Frui-tea July! I was at the store yesterday looking to get another box of Tazo’s Passion, because it is one of the few bagged teas I really like, and I especially love iced hibiscus teas in hot weather, and that one is particularly fruit punchy. Then I looked up and noticed they now have a bottle of Passion liquid concentrate, and since I only planned to use the bags to make iced tea anyway, I figured I’d give it a try. The instructions just said to mix it with equal parts water, or to even use it with another liquid, like lemonade, fizzy water, alcohol, juice, etc. I decided to go for lemonade!
The concentrate is already sweetened a bit, so those that find the actual tea way too tart might actually like this better. I can drink the regular tea plain (but I have particularly strange tastes when it comes to hibiscus and rosehip and am more endurant than most) and even with my high endurance, I admit that plain Passion got me quite close to the boundary of needing sweetener. This was still tangy, but was like a nice sweet-tart fruit punch, and mixed with lemonade, which also has its own sweet-tart profile, it was really good! The citrus of the lemonade worked great with the citrus notes in the Passion tea; it really did taste like a fruit punch with a lot of rich tangy citrus and sweet floral high notes. I’m a little sad the concentrate only comes in such a small bottle, because it is so convenient to make iced tea this way, and I’m imagining making lots of this over the summer.

June Wedding! For this “borrowed” entry I have a gifted teabag from a former coworker, Katie (thanks Katie!) She gave this to me back when I was in my “I don’t like Earl Grey” phase, because she told me she thought it tasted on the lavender side, and she knew I liked lavender. I was a bit hesitant because it wasn’t a bergamot/lavender blend and it’s been sitting in my cupboard since. Now I’ve adapted my palate to bergamot, and I really needed a caffeine boost this morning, so an Earl Grey was a good choice.
Of course, the first thing I did was remove the tea from the paper teabag and steep in my gravity well infuser. Hey, unlike the Constant Comment I had recently, I don’t smell paper even after removing the tea from the bag, so that’s a good sign! The tea steeps up dark, with a strong bergamot citrus scent. It’s… not my favorite Earl Grey I’ve tried, but it certainly isn’t bad, either. I prefer my black base a little less astringent, and my bergamot a little less potent so it doesn’t come out quite so biting on the tongue (it doesn’t taste like lavender to me, as far as a flavor, but it reminds me of when there is too much lavender in a tea blend so you get that sort of “sour floral” flavor note in the cup). Despite its flaws to my personal taste preferences, this is a suitably drinkable cup, and a nice caffeine boost.

Good lord. I can’t drink this by itself.
It’s like sipping buttercream frosting, with a STRONG emphasis on the butter. Almost sickeningly decadent. Even when blended 1:3 with other teas, this takes center stage. It’s potent.
Normally, I am all about super rich dessert teas. But this is rich to the point that it’s a little gross. I’d avoid this one.

I bought a box on a whim because I love blondies. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much, but I’ve completely fallen in love with this blend. It’s such a simple tea, but they’ve managed to create a tea that not only smells but tastes like baked goods. The aroma reminds me of the smell that fills your kitchen when you’re baking a batch of chocolate chip cookies…only there’s no chocolate chips. The cuppa is all brown sugar, butter, and vanilla with the slightest hint of spice. The black tea flavor is very light, and I don’t mind it for this sort of dessert tea; if I’m drinking a dessert tea it’s because I want the flavor of the dessert more than the flavor of the tea base.
It’s one of the best dessert teas I’ve had in a while. I might have to track down the other blends in the Dessert Delights collection, and I’ll definitely keep a box or two stashed in my pantry.
I’m not really digging this.
It smells fantastic in the bag, and when the hot water first hits it, but I find it brews up so mildly that it barely leaves an impression.
Which means that its getting drunk much faster than I expected it to, but still.
Its generally inoffensive, but not very exciting. When I sip it down I won’t get more, as I’m trying to curate a more interesting collection of teas.
This is one of the new office teas, and I’m glad its there.
This tea is almost a non-entity. It barely tastes of anything, though sometime its a little bitter at the bottom of the glass.
I will not be even slightly sorry to see it sipped down, and being at my desk will help!
So I may or may not have accidentally bought a whole bunch of delicious ginger biscuits this afternoon, and may or may not have rushed right home to brew tea and eat ginger biscuits. Nom.
So this was an impulse buy, and its a mildly sweet black tea. Nothing particularly special. Ah well. The ginger biscuits are delicious.
I was surprised to see Tazo iced teas, and it was very hot out, so I gave this a try. It was much too sweet for me, however I did like the green tea + peach juice combination. I’ll have to replicate this myself with a green tea I want use up and some peach juice. It was tasty and refreshing, but at 150 calories, you can already tell how much sugar they add.
The peaches do taste just like perfectly ripe white peaches, so that’s a big plus. My family loves peaches, and we all look forward to the very small window of “peach season”. The problem, of course, if that peaches grown in most of the world are shipped to Canada unripe and never get very sweet. The ones grown close by that are ripe at picking will bruise and be pilly before they get to stores. It is well known that peaches, along with figs, avocados, and raspberries, have a 1 day window for consumption before they get moldy or pilly.
You can’t buy peaches in bulk unless you plan to eat all of them in one day (I’ve done this many times. If the peach window is closing fast, you can’t be eating anything else!) Anyway, I found this peach juice to be from high quality (ripe but not bruised or overripe) peaches and I appreciate that.

I adore this tea, my mom had a box a while back and I tried it. After reading other reviews and agreeing with the fruity taste when I find it again I’m thinking I should definitely try it chilled. I like roobios teas and love how they make me feel so refreshed and this one was no exception.

The first several sips, I didn’t like it at all. The more I kept having it and the more it cooled down, I thought it was very good. I think my initial distaste was due to never having had a tea with lemongrass. Halfway through the cup, I decided I really enjoyed it.
