A very light and refreshing tea. There is the faintest hint of a peach flavor which is nice, but I think I would enjoy this much more if the flavor is stronger. Overall, I don’t hate it. I will continue repurchasing until I find another brand that offers the same but with stronger flavors.
Flavors: Peach
Preparation
We just got home from my mom’s birthday supper at The Keg, which is like this SUPER FANCY expensive steak house type place in town. We went there last year, and she really loved it so we went back again…
It kind of infuriates me that a place as nice as The Keg still doesn’t carry anything nicer than Lipton for their tea options. Like, they have a whole coffee menu of fancy, specialty coffees but I ask for tea options and the waiter looks like I’ve shot him. Like, God forbid someone wants tea, of all things. So, I settled for this pretty crappy lemon herbal thing which they served to me in a really nice personal tea pot. Like, the pot was clearly deserving of much better offerings than LIPTON of all things.
Some tea is better than no tea, though – and since I largely ate various salad dishes up until dessert (where I switched to an alcoholic cream soda) the tangy, tart citrus worked well enough alongside the tomatoes and coleslaw that was going on with the rest of the meal. Though, I think the first ingredient of this was actually hibiscus and not lemon. Still moderately ok. I just expect better from a restaurant that’s gonna cost us $250 before tip at the end of the meal…
The black tea in which I compare every other black tea to. This is available in almost all the supermarkets in my country so it has established itself as the most commonplace tea and a staple in McDonald’s or any other restaurants that tries to overcharge you. It has a milder scent, which is appropriate as it caters to the masses. Not my go to, probably because of its availability. But for those who have not drank tea before, this is a good tea to start on.
Flavors: Bitter
Preparation
This is the tea I grew up with in my childhood home. Retasting it brings back memories of how I once thought this was the only type of tea. I enjoy this one, especially when paired with milk and sugar, as a way to start the day.
Flavors: Lemon
Preparation
After reading the reviews I had braced myself for my tea to finish steeping and what lie ahead.
To my surprise, this was not the worst tea I’ve ever had, but that isn’t giving it much kudos in the other direction, either.
It is a simple black tea but the aftertaste is not pleasant. It’s astringent and reminded me of bitter medicine. Even milk and honey powder couldn’t reel the aftertaste in and I’m pretty sure it gave me heartburn.
If I have any more of this tea on-hand I’ll be throwing it out. I’ve had my share of Lipton teas over the years, but this is version is a definite no even as a base to my cold brews.
Flavors: Astringent, Bitter, Herbs, Medicinal, Wood
Preparation
I got this in the mail from a penpal in Italy and was instantly in love! Lipton is kind of basic so I didn’t expect much, but this actually tastes like a lemon macaron. I was impressed!
I had to buy myself some boxes through eBay because they don’t sell this in the United States. Definitely worth it.
Recently, I’ve been experimenting with different teas to build up a small variety of low cost daily drinkers. Green tea is one that I tend to like alone or as the base to a cold brew.
While this isn’t a favorite of mine, it is a reasonably priced tea that does not require sweetener or cream to make it acceptable.
The tea’s flavor is subtle. Lipton suggests a 2 minute brew, but I found that short of a brew made for a weak tea where the only flavors I could pick up was the green tea, itself. At a longer, 5 minute, brew I was able to taste the lemon and to a lesser degree the honey (I almost didn’t pick up on the honey).
This is one that I would drink, but, also, one I’d easily replace with a green tea that I enjoy more. Overall I consider this to be a neutral tea, swaying me in neither direction. In a pinch, lacking other options of green tea, I would not hesitate to buy it.
Flavors: Grass, Herbs, Lemon, Lemongrass
Preparation
The colour is pale gold with a slight haziness.
Strong fruity aroma with blueberries and goji in balance, a bit sweetish.
The taste is also sweetish, slightly fruity, with straw notes from low-quality base green tea.
Mediocre tea, not recommended.
Flavors: Blueberry, Fruity, Goji, Straw
Preparation
Served cold, these bottled teas are very refreshing in the summer. Though I try to limit myself to one a or two a week. The one thing that I do notice (that may be specific to the diet one) is there is something either in the flavor or a carbonation that makes it not very smooth. But it’s still a great drink I’d recommend.
Flavors: Citrus
Preparation
As teas go, this is at best middling. But at worst, it’s also middling. It’s not offensively terrible, it’s not overloaded with weird flavors, and it holds well even if it’s oversteeped, under temperature, or under just plain crappy conditions. It’s… tea. Not great tea, but tea. I’d recommend it over things like Bigelows & Constant Comment.
