Was cleaning out the cupboard and found a box of this. Decided to pull out two bags to take to work and give one to a coworker. Was not expecting anything great because it’s been in the cupboard FOREVER cuz I didn’t care for it.

I must have a palate problem because this was GOOD! I did add a touch of sugar too. Sad that when this box is gone I’ll probably replenish! UGH! I’m not a bagger….I’m not a bagger!!!!

Who cares who makes it or whether it comes in a bag as long as you enjoy it? So, enjoy it!

Maybe this isn’t fair to this tea but ah well such is life. When I first had a cup of this I thought it was pretty decent. But over the weekend I had my high quality sencha loose leaf and then came back to this with completely different feelings. I always compare this tea with Bigelow Green as they seem to be on a similar playing field. I would say I now prefer Bigelow green over this. Reason being I’m detecting some not so great side tastes in the Lipton now and an odd after taste. Yes Bigelow is more bland tasting but it doesn’t seem to have the odd aftertaste or side tastes Lipton has been giving me.

Donating this to the tea cache in the work break room ;-)

I’d recommend this green to someone looking for an inexpensive green tea fix. Claims over bitterness etc… are usually accompanied with stories about oversteeping. The package says 1-1.5 minutes. I do 1.5 minutes and it turns out well every time. I’ve had loose leaf Sencha tea and yes this Lipton tea is quite different. But it’s also way less expensive than a good Sencha. I would rate this a bit higher than Bigelow green tea, seems more caffeinated too.

Wow, this is a thick, buttery, caramel tea. It is like a super dense, chewy caramel. It is almost too rich for me, as in this cup is good but this isn’t something I could have often. Still I am so grateful for the chance to try it because the smell alone is worth it. Thanks MissB!!

It isn’t as horrible as most of the other reviewers have suggested (the packaging of the tea bag I used was rather different from that in the pic, but there’s apparently no difference in the name, so I suppose we are talking about the same tea). Yes, the bergamot flavour may not be the best one in my life and it’s kinda like bergamot + a bit of lemon, but it tastes okay. The tea base is on the earthy side and I prefer a slightly more floral and sweeter base. But as an everyday tea, this is good enough!

My sister made this for me to warm me up during a big snow storm. This tea gets a very strong bitter orange flavour if steeped for too long.. not one my favorites but did the trick.

Flavors: Green, Orange

What a good sister! Too bad the tea was lackluster :(

Thanks for the sample of this one, MissB! Short note because I’m on my phone, but the aroma of the dry tea is deliciously caramelly. Steeped, it stays about the same, but it doesn’t translate to the flavour quite as well as I’d like, though that could perhaps be fixed by adding sweetener. I still rather enjoyed it for what it was, particularly since it’s a bagged tea. Would drink again, happily. Brewed at 100C for 2 min.

drank Blueberry Muffin by Lipton

Well, this isn’t a fruit tea, so I need to change that. It’s a black with added flavors, and surprisingly good ones. I actually get “McDonald’s crappy Blueberry muffin” out of this… Or what I’d imagine it to be. The commercials have two ladies taking a bite out of their cups, and showing a Blueberry muffin. Pretty accurate!

Flavors: Artificial, Blueberry, Cake

I think if McDonald’s changed the name of their muffin as per your suggestion they might even be able to trademark it and sell way more haha

Fjellrev

Oddly enough, you make me want to experience this crappy blueberry muffin you speak of.

MissB

Oh gosh. Well, imagine a muffin devoid of any nutrients whatsoever, but it’s like crack, you can’t stop eating it. Interestingly, McDonald’s in France and Belgium don’t sell them… Croissants and macarons all the way!

Really though, the ad isn’t my creation, it’s on TV in France constantly.

ohfancythat

omggggggggggg Croissants and macarons at McDonalds!?!?!?!?!?

MissB

Ah! Somehow missed the croissants and macarons mention. Yep – McDo (what people call it here, pronounced MAC-Doe) has their own little McCafe’s, and they serve all sorts of French food. It’s quite shocking… they also have lots of Americanized food which makes me laugh every time.

I love the smell of this tea, but I think that’s where the love stops. It’s pretty sour—to the point where I don’t think it’d be salvageable with an unlimited amount of sweetener. I’m definitely going to put this on my list of iced-only teas. The vanilla is lost, and that makes me sad.

drank Caramel Tea (Thé Caramel) by Lipton

Strong bagged black tea with even stronger caramel smell. Pretty straightforward stuff, but needs sweetener to bring out the flavor at all. Needed to add some cream because it’s just too strong for my stomach.

Grabbed this in France, added description, ingredients and translated it as best I could.

My mother bought some of this tea for me in an attempt to buy me a “fancy” tea (she really doesn’t get my tastes in tea), which I appreciate but this is just not that great. Thankfully it was partially saved by adding a lot of honey. I wish I could say exactly what was wrong with it but it was just kind of ..blah.
It’ll do in a pinch, though – so there’s that.

Maybe I just don’t like Lipton, because this green tea is really awful. It’s cheap tasting, and a shorter steeper time isn’t even close. Even dabbing it in for a couple of seconds can lead to a bitter and sour cup. I like “pure green tea” so I naturally don’t put any additives, but this truly is just bad and cheap tea. Have to finish it before I get a new one…

I may have let the water boil for too long this time but it was still pleasant. Had a slight bitter aftertaste, smelt really nicely of peaches but the flavour of the tea was lacking compared to how fragrant it was.

My grandma got me this tea as a Christmas gift. It’s not something I would normally drink, but I’ve had a bad head cold all week, so it was actually quite nice to have a cheap decaf tea that I could sip instead of wasting my good loose leaf tea. I can’t taste much right now, but I did notice the sweetness of honey and a little bit of lemon in this. Mostly, though, it was just the comforting familiarity of a warm cup of tea on a rough day!

So as many of you know, I’ve been on a mission to find good decaf teas lately so they will help my physical issues. Well, Carol Who decided to send me a bunch of decaf teas this week, which is totally up my alley! So excited about these teas. Thank you for helping my exploration to find the best decaf teas, Carol Who! :D
I don’t generally like Lipton as a brand, but a few years ago I used to drink one of their peach teas. Wasn’t great, but was decent.
Wasn’t so sure about trying this one, but since it’s a chamomile, I had to try! Glad I did!
Was pleasantly surprised.
While I don’t think that chamomile and pineapple should be mixed together-since those two flavors alone are often sour in things, this tea actually tastes okay. It definitely is more of a sour tea, but it reminds me of candy. Which I am always down for. Because candy is the bomb in my world :P
I don’t think I’d want to buy this tea, but I will enjoy finishing off this one. Thank you for the tea bags, Carol Who! This one will be good when I’m in the mood for something sweeter than the banana chamomiles I have! :D

Flavors: Candy, Pineapple, Sour

Stephanie

good decaf teas are hard to find, for sure

gmathis

I like this one, too. Chamomile usually takes over when it’s blended with anything, but the fruit tones it down a little.

I was surprised at how drinkable this was. I am visiting family and this is the tea they had at breakfast at the hotel. I am just glad I could make a strong cup, even if it isn’t super tasty!
