15534 Tasting Notes
mmmm so this tea… this tea makes up for my sad story with strawberry zabaglione :) in fact.. we were making chili and hamburgers in the kitchen and i opened the tea up…it cut through ALL of the smells and the other half who was in the other room holloared “woah..blueberry”
So that gives you a sense of the smell :) The taste is wonderful…it’s like a mouthful of blueberry goodness.
This is a really weak tea, but it’s not bad. There was no bitterness in my steep which was nice. Overall it was a subtle malty, creamy kinda of tea.
Mmmmmm this is much more caramel and cheesecake than the apricot cheesecake blend I previously picked up from frank. The smalle when you open the bag is amazing….caramel and cheesecakes goodness. Upon brewing the tea, there’s a slight bitterness that I’m not a fan of. I added some rock sugar to this and it turned into an amazing cheesecakes caramel delicious creamy tea of wonder.
mmm this IS a delicious tea! I, like Indigobloom, am not a huge fan of vanilla. This however, is a wonderful blend of creamy goodness. I can see where some would say that it tastes like toblerone. This is for sure a tea i’d keep in my cupboard for when i’m craving a creamy delicious bit of wonder. Also, what’s wodnerful is that I can buy it here in toronto! mmmm thank you indigobloom!
Preparation
This is a lovely tea. I’m 99% sure it’s from indigobloom since only her tasting notes are here on steepster :) I’ve got about another 10 samples left from her and kittena plus another 5 or so from azzrian and then i’ll be down to pretty much just my tea. BUT on the plus side, that means i’ll be good to start paring down my cupboard and ordering new teas! haha!
But anyway, on with this tea. This is a really nice strawberry tea. I really enjoy black teas so it’s nice to see the strawberry paired with this instead of a green tea :) I’d give this one another shot for sure!
So what’s really strange about this brew? All i can taste is cinnamon…but i’m pretty sure that there isn’t any in this, so go figure. Maybe my taste budes got confused. Not a fan of this one as a result but it might be worth another shot just to see if it stops tasting like cinnamon haha
I’m going to have to agree with Azzrian on this one. I wanted to try this as another oonlong to see if there is that consitent taste across oolongs that I’m not a fan of. it’s there in this oolong as well, so i suspect either I’m steeping most oolongs incorrectly OR, I’m just not a fan of oolongs :)
Another sample from Indigobloom?. While this is a really lovely tea, I’m wondering if oolongs just aren’t my thing. I’m not getting the citrus notes in this one but I can taste the jasmine. the color is beautiful ( I’m so glad I bought the bodum glasses for drinking tea with at home) and its a nice relaxing cup of tea. I just don’t think I’d purchase it, but that’s more to do with oolongs than this being a bad tea.
So somehow I managed to forget to log this a few days ago when I finally sat down to try it. I haven’t actually tried the butter beer at Harry potter land at universal – the day we went it was waaaaaay too long a line. BUT this tea is quite delicious….as long as you like root beer :) I cold brewed this as I wanted to see if this could be a refreshing après workout tea and it certainly is. It’s uncanny how much this tastes like a cold flat soda. :) Im looking forward to trying this warm, with maybe a dash of cream to really bring out the buttery flavours.
I think I need to break down and try this. I’ve had the butterbeer at universal and it was delish (I prefer the cold, but everyone else likes the frozen).
If you go back to WWoHP, whatever you do, DON’T GET THE CORNISH PASTIES! They are an insult to Cornish Pasties and I feel so bad for an British person that goes expecting quality.
Indigo: LOL! On Sil’s behalf I hereby exclaim, “Curse you, autocorrect!”
Sil: I thought Butterbeer was great lightly sweetened and iced, too!
LOL thats funny because for me this falls short of the Strawberry.
